2011 Bossier Federal Scholarship Winners Announced
Bossier Federal would like to congratulate our 2011 Scholarship Recipients! Williamson Slack 2011 graduate of Airline High School is one of this year’s
$2,000 scholarship recipients. Slack plans to attend Southern Methodist University and pursue a degree in Business Management.
This year’s other $2,000 scholarship recipient is Morgan Braswell, 2011 graduate of Haughton High School. Braswell plans
to attend Louisiana Tech University and pursue a degree in Computer Science. Samantha Leland, 2011 graduate of Parkway High
School, is this year’s $1,000 scholarship recipient. Leland plans to attend the Louisiana State University and pursue a
degree in History.
Bossier Federal is very excited about the overall participation in our scholarship program this year. With
entries from all three parishes and active involvement from all high school senior counselors it was a difficult task to choose
the winners from so many worthy college bound students. The application process included an essay on “What community or
school service activity is most meaningful to you and why? What impact did your service have? Describe what you learned and how
it affected you” and a completed application on scholastic honors and awards, extracurricular activities and work
experience. We are proud to be a part of our educational community, and we look forward to offering more scholarship
opportunities for the graduating seniors of 2012.

Relay For Life
Relay For Life is an annual event that brings together cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and participants who celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. This is the second year that Bossier Parish has played host to Relay For Life and the first year that Bossier Federal has participated. Through out the night our employees walked the track, fundraised and had a blast! We had over 20 members on our team and walked over 25 miles!
Everyone’s support helps fund research to develop new cancer treatment technologies, efforts to pass cancer-fighting legislation and community programs to help patients and their loved ones cope with cancer. Bossier Federal looks forward to participating in the Third Annual Relay For Life in 2010!
