Community
At Bossier Federal, we’re not just here for you. We’re here for your families. Your students. Your employees. Your congregations.
Like a ripple, everything we do impacts everything you do. That’s why we take community involvement so seriously.
United Way’s Day of Caring 2023
Our Bossier Federal team had the opportunity to participate in a service project with United Way’s Day of Caring! We were able to tackle projects like weeding, composting, landscaping, and picking up litter. By participating, our team was able to learn more about the needs in their community and make a difference!
i3 Art Expo Sponsor Choice Award
In May we attended the i3 Art Expo Red Carpet Awards where we got to present our sponsor’s choice award to Katie P.! i3 Art Expo is a celebration of all-things-art that showcases Bossier Parish students’ amazing talent. We have loved partnering with Bossier Schools to be the Social Media Sponsor for i3, and look forward to continuing it next year!
Bossier Businesses 4 Bossier Teachers
In May we had the opportunity to partner with Bossier Businesses 4 Bossier Teachers to deliver some goodies to teachers for teacher appreciation week! We brought brunch, lunch, sweets and much more to teachers in the Haughton area. This initiative helped serve every teacher and staff member in Bossier Parish, and we were happy to be a part!
Gold Star 10 Year Reunion
We hosted our Annual Gold Star Reception in May, but this year there was a twist! To celebrate 10 years of Gold Stars we hosted our first ever Gold Star Reunion. Many Gold Stars from years past joined us to celebrate and remember all the moving stories we have heard over the years.
100th Gold Star Awarded in April 2023
We recently got the chance to honor our 100th Gold Star Award Winner, Ms. Arcenia Anthony! In her work at the Parent Education Center, she has been able to clothe and equip students who come from lower income areas, provide technology resources to those students, and provide parents with resources to help make their child’s future brighter. We are so thankful for all that she does!
Providence House Donation 2023
Due to the help of our amazing Bossier Federal team, we were able to donate over 20 bags of clothes and shoes to the Providence House! Employees in our branches collected items over the months of March and April, and we were able to make a great donation. We are grateful that our team members are passionate about helping our community!
Scholarship Winner 2023
Our 2023 Scholarship Award Winner is Jewel B! Jewel wrote a fantastic essay outlining what leadership means to her and how it makes a difference. That, along with excellent grades and service in our community, secured Jewel as the winner of our Annual Scholarship Award. We are confident she is going to do great things, and represent our community well in her next endeavors.
March 2023 Gold Star
In March we were able to recognize our 99th Gold Star Award winner at the School Board meeting, Whitney Clark! She was nominated by many of her peers for her tireless work with her students, and her dedication to the Benton High School teachers and staff. We are grateful for the stories we have gotten to hear over the past 10 years of Gold Stars, and for this special one we honored for March of 2023. We are so grateful for her contributions to Bossier Schools!
Humane Society Donation
In February, we got to deliver all of the donations we received for the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana during our Spread the Love Drive! We appreciate the generosity of our staff and members!
February 2023 Gold Star
We awarded our February Gold Star, Coach Suzanne Hill at Benton Intermediate School. In her role as a coach she has taken on the job as the archery coach for Benton Intermediate. She is known for often being the first to arrive to school and last to leave. Her peers note her as being energetic, a bright light, and always caring for her students. We are proud to have her as our February Gold Star!
January 2023 Gold Star
Mallory Cooper of the Technology Department for Bossier Schools was awarded as our January 2023 Gold Star Award winner. She was nominated for her willingness to not just go the extra mile, but maybe a FEW extra miles for those who need her help. In her role in the technology department it is common for her to help walk someone through how to fix a problem on their computer, or to help them learn how to use a specific program. Through every step of the way Mallory cheers whoever she is helping on and reminds them they are doing a great job. We feel confident that she was the best choice for our January 2023 Gold Star!
Bossier Chamber of Commerce Gala

We are so glad we had the opportunity to give back to some of the children in our community so they can have a better Christmas this year. There are many ways you can contribute to our local Salvation Army, don’t hesitate to find ways to get involved!
December 2022 Gold Star
Our December Gold Star Award Winner is Ms. Travisa Foster of BPSTIL. The staff of BPSTIL came together to write a moving nomination on Ms. Foster’s behalf. Their nomination read of her willingness to go all in at BPSTIL since arriving there, and spoke of her dedication to the success of students that sometimes go unseen. We feel like she perfectly exemplifies the traits of a Gold Star, and we are so glad to have her as our last Gold Star of 2022!
