Patriots of the Pandemic
We partnered with the Bossier Chamber of Commerce to honor people in our community that went out of their way to help when COVID-19 hit. We were happy to have the opportunity to be a sponsor for the Patriots of the Pandemic event!
September Gold Star 2020
In September we awarded another Gold Star Award Winner Col. Dave Hadden, Director of Transportation. Due to the effects of COVID-19, making sure that every student has access to school transportation has been quite the task. In the face of much adversity Col. Hadden, along with the entire Transportation Department, have worked tirelessly to support our community, and ensure that our students have a way to get to school. We are so thankful for his hard work!
BPSB Principals of the year
For many years we have been a sponsor for the BPSB Principals of the Year awards! We look forward to helping to celebrate those principals who do so much for the students in our community. We are so grateful for their impact on the next generation.
Tailgating with the Panthers
We love supporting our local schools, and with the restrictions of COVID-19 their football teams need more help than ever. In September, we were able to be a sponsor for the Meet the Panthers event, which helped raise money for the Parkway Panthers football team.
Back to School Cookie Cake Deliveries
We participated in our annual back to school cookie deliveries for another year! This is our way of saying “welcome back” to the educators and staff who make an impact on our students each and every day. We look forward to a fantastic year!
September Blood Drive
In September we hosted a blood drive with LifeShare Blood Center! Our members and employees had the opportunity to donate blood, and help save lives. We love being able to partner with organizations that positively impact our community.
Children’s Miracle Network Jeans & T-Shirt Day
In September our team gathered together to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network! In return for their donation they were able to wear their favorite jeans and t-shirt to work. Bossier Federal matched the donations of our team so we could make an even greater impact, and support the Children’s Miracle Network!
BPSB IT Dept. Appreciation Breakfast
IT Departments are often the unseen heroes of any organization. So when we were given the opportunity to thank the Bossier Parish School Board IT Department for their hard work we quickly jumped at it! We honored this hard working department with a great breakfast, and some goody bags as a thank you for everything they did to get ready for virtual school this year, and so much more.
Everyday Hero for 3rd Quarter 2020
Our 3rd quarter Everyday Hero award was given to Lori G! Lori is a nurse in Minden who, when COVID-19 hit, organized a group to help care for the elderly in her community. She made sure they were equipped with the basic essentials they need, and were looked after during an uncertain time.
New Teacher Welcome
In August we were able to welcome the teachers that are new to Bossier Parish with some goodie bags we sponsored alongside the Bossier Chamber! It was a privilege to thank those who invest so much into the next generation.
Hurricane Laura Relief Donation
In August we were able to donate supplies to Haughton High School in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura. This supplies went towards providing relief for LaGrange High School and their football players in Lake Charles.
June Everyday Hero
In June we got the opportunity to honor Beau Hayes and Chef Peanut from Beauxjax Crafthouse with the Everyday Hero Award. When COVID made its way to Bossier, and the restaurant industry was hit they worked to keep their employees coming to work, and helped make sure employee’s children were cared for.
2020 Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to our 2020 Scholarship recipient Sonny R of Parkway High school! He received a $2,500 scholarship that he will use to attend Louisiana Tech. Congratulations to the graduates of 2020! We hope you have a fantastic summer!
Helping Hearts – Nicole and Leslie
One morning we got the chance to award two special people with the Helping Hearts Award at Haughton Middle School. Nicole and Leslie have been consistently taking special care of their students since schools have closed due to COVID-19. When students who have needed some extra help and attention, they have been sure to meet their needs even though they haven’t been able to see them face to face everyday. We are so honored to be able to highlight these difference makers with Bossier Schools and Advance Awards & Gifts!
Helping Hearts – Ms. Gullet
With great honor we celebrated our next Helping Hearts Award recipient Ms. Gullet! Ms. Gullet is an ESL teacher at Central Park. When word came out that schools would no longer be open for students, she was quick to respond to the needs of her students, and to form relationships with their families. She worked with her church to make sure that their needs for meals would be met, and that none of her children would be without during this difficult time. We are proud to honor instructors just like her who take the time to care for her students, especially when things get difficult.
April Gold Star
We celebrated our April Gold Star Award Recipient, Mrs. Hill, in a one of a kind way! She was nominated by many of her own colleagues who spoke of her dedication to students who speak English as a second language, and her hard work to assure that they don’t fall behind during the time of COVID-19. We are so proud of her dedicated work the students of Princeton Elementary. Congratulations to our April Gold Star Award Recipient, Mrs. Hill!
March Gold Star
We are proud to award our March Gold Star Award Recipient, Dawn Vaughan! Dawn is over Parkway’s Special Education Department. She is known for being someone who goes above and beyond for her students, and for always working behind the scenes. She has made an impact on the lives of students that others may have given up on.
Bossier Parish Schools Maintenance Team Luncheon
I don’t know what we love more…Cookie Cake, or the fantastic Maintenance Team from Bossier Parish School Board. In February we had the opportunity to help recognize these MVP’s for their courageous efforts during the aftermath of the tornadoes that devastated Benton Middle School.
February Gold Star
We had the joy of awarding our February Gold Star Recipient Mr. Robert Gallant! Mr. Gallant was nominated by students who had so many kinds words to say about his impact on their lives. We are proud of teachers like Mr. Gallant who go the extra mile to show students that they are important, and can do whatever they put their mind to!
Instructional Coach Luncheon with Bossier Parish Schools
Bossier FCU got the honor of catering lunch in for the Bossier Parish School Board Instructional Coaches in January. We are so thankful for how these instructional coaches support the Bossier Parish School System, and help impact the administration, staff, and the students in our local school districts.
