Community
At Bossier Federal, we’re not just here for you. We’re here for your families. Your students. Your employees. Your congregations.
Like a ripple, everything we do impacts everything you do. That’s why we take community involvement so seriously.
Gold Star Banquet 2022
We finally celebrated our Bossier Schools Gold Stars of 2021-2022! We had a fantastic time enjoying the musical stylings of the Talented Arts Program Jazz Band, dinner and dessert from the Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport Bossier, and a presentation honoring all of our amazing winners. That is officially a wrap on the Gold Star Program for this school year, we can’t wait to see what all will happen next year!
April 2022 Gold Star
We presented our final Gold Star Award of 2022 to Sharon Hollins! In her time at Meadowview she has been known to be the kind of person who always has a smile on her face, and is ready to lend a hand. She has helped her kindergarten students grow and learn, and helped her fellow teachers feel supported and encouraged. We truly believe we saved the best for last!
March 2022 Gold Star
Congratulations to our March 2022 Gold Star Award Winner, Deputy Laird of Rusheon Middle School! Deputy Laird has made a big difference in his short time at Rusheon, and today we had the opportunity to thank him for all he has done. He has invested in the students, teachers, and fellow staff he works with, and he does it without expecting anything in return.
Humane Society Donation
In March we dropped off over $1,000 of supplies and financial contributions to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana! Bossier Federal employees and members donated money and needed supplies over the past month, and we are overwhelmed by their generosity. We got to tour the Humane Society, hear about all the good work they are doing, and of course see some sweet pups!
February 2022 Gold Star
Dr. Lacy was awarded our February Gold Star Award for the unbelievably important work she is doing as the principal at Bossier Elementary. The impact Dr. Lacy is making on the students, teachers, and staff of Bossier Elementary is something you feel when you walk in the school. On that Valentine’s Day there was truly a gymnasium filled with love.
Winter Block Party 2022
Nothing like sunny and 75° for a Winter Block Party! We so enjoyed having PJ’s Coffee and Ark-La-Tex Shredding at the branch, and received some awesome donations to go to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana. We will be hosting another block party in the summer, and we hope to see you there!
Locals Love Us
We are elated to have been recognized as a 2021-2022 award winner with Locals Love Us! Bossier Federal works hard to be one of the best financial institutions in our community, and to offer services for all your banking and lending needs. We love our Shreveport-Bossier community, and it’s great to know you all love us back!
January 2022 Gold Star
In January we honored our first Gold Star of 2022, Mrs. Konnovitch! Serving as the secretary at Bellaire Elementary, she has helped create an environment for students that remind them they are seen and loved. Through her many years there, the staff and administration have seen the way she cares for each student, and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone has what they need.
December Gold Star
We had the joy of awarding our December Gold Star Award Winner, Mr. Sha Jackson of Legacy Elementary! He brings a smile to the faces of all who come through Legacy, and by the cheers through the halls it’s clear that he is more than just a Gold Star… he’s family. Congratulations, Mr. Sha!
November Gold Star
In November we awarded our Gold Star Award Winner, Mrs. O’Donohue! As the Librarian Assistant at Benton Middle School Mrs. O’Donohue has invested deeply in the lives of the students and families who walk in the doors. She joins a special group of Benton Middle School Gold Stars.
Teachers of the Year
In October we had the opportunity to recognize the teachers of the year at the Bossier Parish School Board meeting! We love getting to hear the amazing stories of the staff, teachers, and administrators who make an impact on our students.
October Gold Star
Congratulations to our October 2021 Gold Star Award winner, Mrs. Thomas! As the Assistant Principal of T.L. Rhodes, she has made a long-lasting impact on the students and faculty for over 10 years. She had countless nominations that spoke to her leadership, support, and willingness to go above and beyond. Mrs. Thomas is truly a gold star in our book!
International Credit Union Day 2021
This year the theme for International Credit Union Day was Building Financial Health for a Brighter Tomorrow. At Bossier Federal it’s beyond banking, it’s personal for us. So this year’s focus for International Credit Union Day was something that we take to heart. Join us as we work to build a brighter future through financial health!
Everyday Hero- Dieter Neumann
We awarded the Everyday Hero Award to Mr. Neumann, and got to hear the fantastic story of his dedication to our community, and the veterans who live here. With his disc golf tournaments he has been able to contribute to Woody’s Place, a organization that helps offer shelter to Veterans in need of support.
Miracle Jeans Day 2021
Our staff participated in Miracle Jeans Day with Credit Unions for Kids to help support the Children’s Miracle Network. They contributed donations that help go to children in need in our local community, and in return got to wear jeans and their favorite cartoon themed t-shirt!
