Commission for Women Luncheon 2024
In early March we joined the Commission for Women for their Inspiring Women Luncheon! The Commission put on a wonderful event that included a panel of speakers discussing our aging society. The panel included representatives from the Bossier Council on Aging, the Bridge, Veterans Affairs, and the Honorable Judge Jeff Cox. They discussed various aspects of an aging society, from support services, to how important it is to have conversations early on about late in life care and wills.
February Gold Star 2024
We were definitely feeling the love for our February Gold Star, Ms. Suzan Doherty! Ms. Doherty is a Special Education Coordinator for Bossier Parish, and her impact extends past the walls of the Evaluation Center and into the hearts of those students and educators in the Benton community. She is a dedicated coordinator and truly pours her heart and soul into her work.
Bossier Chamber Gala 2024
At the beginning of February some of our team members had the privilege of attending the Bossier Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Gala! The theme for the evening was “Game On,” and the Chamber certainly brought the fun! It is always a joy to see our community come together to celebrate Bossier!
Bingo at the Bossier Council on Aging 2024
During the month of January, we partnered with the Bossier Council on Aging. Several of our staff members volunteered to assist with their Bingo games. We provided prizes, assisted the participants with anything they needed during game time, and had the honor of calling a few games too! Our team members had a ball hanging out at both the Haughton and Bossier City sites of the Council on Aging! A good time and plenty of laughs were had by all!
January Gold Star 2024
We were so excited to present our first Gold Star of 2024! It was so much fun to be involved with this lunchtime surprise for the principal of Benton Intermediate, Jennifer Burris! Ms. Burris is a powerhouse of a partner to her faculty and staff, and she is an absolute champion for her students!
December Gold Star 2023
Our December Gold Star Award Recipient, Shanna Malone of Plain Dealing High School is our final Gold Star winner of 2023. Her nominations spoke of her “many hats” that she wears and how she’s always willing to jump in and go the extra mile for the students of Plain Dealing. Her impact on their community and extensive efforts to prepare the students for life after high school made her an easy choice for our December Gold Star!
Toys for Tots 2023
This year all of our Bossier Federal branches were Toys for Tots drop off locations. Plus, members of our Bossier Federal team got together to donate items. It was a wonderful turnout, we gathered over eight big boxes of toys for our local children.
Principals of the Year Awards 2023
In December we attended the Bossier Parish School Board Meeting to present the 2023-2024 Principals of the Year Awards. It is always wonderful to hear of the accomplishments of the local administrators and educators!
Award of Excellence Medals 2023-2024
This year we are sponsoring the Bossier Parish School Board Award of Excellence Medals, which means we get to help celebrate excellence that is happening in our parish! Each Award of Excellence Medal recipient also receives complimentary engraving to memorialize their accomplishment. We love getting to hear the stories of all the amazing things that are happening in our community!
Bossier Youth Leadership Project 2023
We always look forward to partnering with the Bossier Chamber to help with the Bossier Youth Leadership program. This year we sponsored a portion of the Social Services Session and provided supplies to pack 100 snack bags for the patients at Shriners Children’s Hospital.
November Gold Star 2023
Kayce Douglas of Waller Elementary was awarded our November Gold Star. In her role as school counselor, Mrs. Douglas has made a deep impact on not just the students, but the teachers of Waller. She is known for always going far above what is asked of her. Whether it is as small as a smile in the hallways, or as big as coordinating a school-wide coat drive that benefits every student, Mrs. Douglas is providing a vital service to every person at Waller Elementary. We are so grateful she was nominated, and we were honored to present this award to her!
October Gold Star 2023
Our October 2023 Gold Star Recipient, Coach Medellin makes a unique impact on the students of Bossier High School every day in his many roles he fulfills. Whether he is on the field coaching or in the classroom as a Para-Professional he is working daily to go above and beyond for his students. His nominators called him a voice for students, a pillar to the kids he is around every day, and a man with passion. We are so pleased to get to award him for all of his hard work!
International Credit Union Day 2023
In October we celebrated International Credit Union Day the best way we know how…with cookie cake!! We are grateful to be a part of this international movement, and the greater initiative of people helping people.
Employee Volunteer Day 2023
We celebrated our second annual Volunteer Day! We spent the first half of our day volunteering in our community with organizations like The Salvation Army, Shreveport-Bossier, Geaux Bags, Bossier Schools Parent Education Center, the Bossier Sheriff’s food pantry (pictured here), Renesting Project, Inc., and United Way of Northwest Louisiana. The second half of the day we participated in team building activities, and enjoyed our time together. We are grateful to have had another successful year of giving back to our community and strengthening our Bossier Federal team!
September Gold Star 2023
Congratulations to our first Gold Star Award winner of the 2023-2024 school year, Deputy Payne! With an overwhelming amount of nominations from multiple schools for his work as an SRO officer and D.A.R.E. Coordinator, Deputy Payne has made a lasting impact on the students of Bossier Parish. We were overjoyed to get to celebrate Deputy Payne on this very special day, because it was also his birthday!
Bossier Parish School Partners Recognized
Bossier Federal was recognized alongside fellow community partners at the Bossier Parish School Board meeting! Our long-standing partnership with the Bossier Parish School System is one that we are very grateful for, and we look forward to all the fun things we will do together during the school year!
